Williamsburg, VA / Washington, D.C. – Crocker wins men’s 800m, Mahalsky races Cherry Blossom

Results:
Men’s 800m: 1) Will Crocker – 1:50.88

Women’s 800m: 2) Myah Hicks – 2:08.38, 4) Merrecia James – 2:08.51

Men’s 1500m: 3) Edose Ibadin – 3:49.82, 26) Gio Mowatt – 3:57.38

Men’s 10-mile: 15) Ryan Mahalsky – 48:26

Summary:

Last weekend, DTC was at William & Mary for the 2017 Colonial Relays and at the 2017 Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10-mile Race. At William & Mary, DTC competed in 3 events; the men’s and women’s 800m and the men’s 1500m. On the other side of the state, Ryan Mahalsky competed in the 10-mile race in the Nation’s Capital.

Will Crocker took the crown in the men’s 800m in a time of 1:50.88.

After a poorly timed, two-hour weather delay, Ibadin and Mowatt finally took the track for the men’s 1500m. Ibadin crossed the line third in a personal-best time of 3:49.82. Mowatt crossed the line 3:57.38 in twenty-sixth place.

In the women’s 800m, Hicks and James took two of the top-5 spots. Hicks crossed the line in second place in a time of 2:08.38, followed by James a fraction of a second later in 2:08.51.

On Sunday, Ryan Mahalsky took on a competitive field in the District and crossed the line fifteenth in a personal-best time of 48:26. 

What’s Next?

This weekend, Crocker and Holdsworth will be competing in the men’s 1500m at George Mason’s Mason Invite. Joining them will be Ibadin dropping down to the 400m, Hicks in the women’s 1500m and James running the women’s 800m.
